Donovan A. Coley Sr.

Founder & Chief Servant Officer

As an Immigrant to the USA, Donovan saw the need to make his family proud by accomplishing his dreams for an education and to pursue a career path that reflected his personality, gifting, and calling.  Donovan brought a passion to every position he pursued and grew personally by the challenges and lessons learned at every opportunity and assignment. He is thrilled by his last major assignment which lasted 17 years with 2 of those years serving as a board member and now continuing to serve as President Emeritus of The Fort Wayne Rescue Mission Ministries, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Donovan founded Discipleship Stewardship Ministries, a Nonprofit, and DSN International LLC. A For-Profit Company with the goal of seeing leaders and organizations grow: “One Leader at a Time & One Organization at a time.”

Donovan holds a master’s degree from Trinity International University, Deerfield, Illinois.  He received a Doctorate of Humane Letters from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2019 and will receive a Doctorate in Ministry Degree upon completion of his Dissertation.  Donovan serves on National, Regional, and Local Boards committed to long lasting change in people and society.

Tom Burch

Discipleship Mentor

Tom was searching for meaning in high school and planned to study philosophy at Indiana University as part of that quest, but the day after his high school graduation, he encountered Christ.  Since then, it’s been an ongoing and amazing journey to discover more of God and how to bring more of His Kingdom to earth.

Tom’s career path included teaching middle and high school (social studies and special education), serving as a real estate broker, and, most recently, serving as a Partner and Senior Financial Advisor. Tom has extensive management experience and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana University.

Tom partners with Youth for Christ at the Allen County Juvenile Center and volunteers at the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission. Alongside his volunteer roles and commitment to the poor and marginalized, he recently became a Discipleship Mentor at the Discipleship Stewardship Network (DSN), where he helps shape the strategic direction and biblical discipleship of next-generation leaders.

Tom was discipled by a missionary a little over a decade ago, and it radically transformed his life and his view of spiritual growth.  Since then, he has been committed to giving away what he was given.  Over the past 30-something years as a Christian, he has realized that there are thousands of instructors in Christ, but not many fathers (1 Cor. 4:15).  He knows that God has called him as a spiritual father who invests in the next generation to see great change and growth in the body of Christ.

Tom and his wife, Mary, have been married since 1995 and have three amazing children. Tom enjoys mentoring others, golf, tennis, card games, guitar, singing, and, in general, serving others in need through his volunteer efforts and his sense of call.

Wayne Johnson

Discipleship Mentor

As a college student, Wayne’s lukewarm Christian faith was turned upside down as he responded to the call to “come help change the world.” He recognized that the world did not have permanent solutions to the turmoil of the Vietnam War and racism during those college years. He became a committed follower of Jesus Christ as he fell in love with a Father who loved and valued him, learned what it meant to be a disciple, and caught the vision of the Great Commission to make disciples worldwide.

Wayne holds a B.A. from Northwestern University, an M.Div. from the International School of Theology, a Th.M. in New Testament and a Ph.D. in Theological Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He served with Cru for 35 years in university ministry and theological education in Africa. He served the Nairobi International School of Theology in Kenya over a period of 28 years as an Associate Professor in Theology, Academic Dean, Head of the Bible and Theology Department, and stints as VP for Planning and Development, Finance, and Administration. During his time in Kenya, he and his wife, Dee, helped plant the Kileleshwa Community Church. He spent nine years as an Associate Pastor for a church in Pittsburgh.  Wayne is once again Cru where he has been part of a team of Cru implementing accredited competency-based theological education worldwide. He is currently an Academic Mentor for two Ph.D. students, one in the U.S. and one in Togo.

Wayne’s strength and passion is to teach for holistic Christ-like transformation. His vision is to see Christians fully follow Jesus in ways that genuinely reflect God’s Kingdom and intentionally share their faith in this world and help others become disciples of Christ.

Dee F. Johnson

Discipleship Mentor

There will be an anti-human trafficking component of the women’s ministry of DSN. So, you should know: Dee became very aware of this problem on her 2019 mission trip to Faith House in Mae Sot, Thailand. The Mission team in 2019 led 50 precious rescued girls through a healing process curriculum from Mending the Soul — entitled Princess Lost/Found. (www.mendingthesoul.org) Dee is committed to bringing this healing teaching of Jesus to vulnerable children around the world. Dee Johnson is married to Wayne Johnson. She received Christ through the ministry of Cru at Penn State University. Dee has been on Cru staff for 50 years, first in the Campus Ministry and then she and her husband Wayne went to Kenya and there Dee spent 28 years teaching and training in evangelism, discipleship, and counseling at the International Leadership University (ILU) in Nairobi, Kenya. Dee has a Master’s in Biblical Counseling (ILU/Kenya) and now serves with Cru City in Ft. Wayne, IN. Wayne and Dee have 3 adult children, a son-in-law, and four amazing grandchildren.
